FUND-RAISING EVENTS

Art Show - held in August/September each year at the Wrest Point convention centre - usually raises around $20,000 to go towards Rotary Projects.

The show provides artists with an excellent opportunity to exhibit and sell their works and caters for new artists as well as established ones.

The 2021 Art Show was held on 18th and 19th September with a ticketed opening night on Friday 17th September 2021.

The next Charity Sail Day is scheduled for Friday, 4th March 2022.

Magic Show

The Rotary Magic Show is held at the Hobart City Hall in November each year. This event is attended by over 2000 excited children, and their parents and guardians. Most years the show raises about $15,000 through the generouse donation of tickets by sponsoring businesses.

The Show forms part of the World Festival of Magic - the 2021 show is scheduled for Sunday 14th November 2021. Please click this link: www.worldfestivalofmagic.com.au for more details.

Rotary Projects:

The Rotary Club of Hobart has established a “Civics for Citizenship” essay competition to encourage civic literacy amongst Tasmania’s school children.

This competition seeks to promote interest in, and participation in the civic culture of Tasmania through a debate on the foundation principles of citizen engagement with our democracy.
