The 32nd Rotary Club of Hobart Charity Sail Day was held on Friday, 3rd March 2023
The Rotary Charity Sail Day has become a favourite annual event for the Tasmanian business community, boat owners and skippers. The Sail Day has raised in excess of $1 million and remains one of Tasmania's most sought after sailing fundraising events.

The Rotary Club of Hobart meets at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, 1 Davey Street, Hobart at 1.00 pm every Thursday.
While the Club is now meeting in person at the Grand Chancellor again, attendees need to book with the Hotel beforehand - if you wish to visit us please contact us using the link below.

The Club was chartered in 1924 - 2014 was our 90th Anniversary - we are one of the oldest Rotary Clubs in Australia and now have over 75 members.
Rotary Hobart is the equal oldest (with Launceston) Rotary Club in Tasmania.

FUND-RAISING EVENTS
Art Show - held in August/September each year at the Wrest Point convention centre - usually raises around $20,000 to go towards Rotary Projects.
The show provides artists with an excellent opportunity to exhibit and sell their works and caters for new artists as well as established ones.

Magic Show
The Rotary Magic Show is held at the Hobart City Hall in November each year. This event is attended by over 1000 excited children, and their parents and guardians. Most years the show raises about $15,000 through the generouse donation of tickets by sponsoring businesses.

What we do with the Money:
The Club provides money for many different worthy causes, many in Tasmania, others within Australia and, in conjunction with other Rotary Clubs and Rotary International (including the Rotary Foundation) around the world.

Rotary Projects:
The Rotary Club of Hobart has established a “Civics for Citizenship” essay competition to encourage civic literacy amongst Tasmania’s school children.
This competition seeks to promote interest in, and participation in the civic culture of Tasmania through a debate on the foundation principles of citizen engagement with our democracy.
